Why the "Golden Ratio" Matters

Most bad coffee isn't the result of bad beans; it's the result of bad math. The "Golden Ratio" for most brewing methods (Pour Over, Drip, Chemex) is **1:16**. This means for every 1 gram of coffee, you use 16 grams (or milliliters) of water.

Adjusting for Taste

If your coffee tastes **sour**, it might be under-extracted. Try a finer grind or a higher ratio (1:17). If it tastes **bitter**, it's likely over-extracted. Try a coarser grind or a lower ratio (1:15).
